The role:

We are looking for a foundation developer to join us to increase the delivery capacity of our core team. Our core platform is written mostly in Perl (with small projects in GoLang) and supports both an API for apps (iOS and Android) and a web front end. The successful applicant will receive guidance and mentoring from our experienced developers.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Work with developers to implement and test new site features and create admin tools
  • To develop and extend our RESTful next-generation APIs
  • Work closely with our marketing team to provide support and continuously develop & improve our in-house email sending system
  • Use MySQL database to gather data and create custom and reusable reports for internal use
  • Liase with customer services to diagnose and solve issues with the site and internal systems, prioritising based on customer impact
  • Maintain a high test coverage and write technical documentation for your code
  • Work with Git version-control system and Linux shell
  • Work with the latest CI systems like Jenkins & Github workflows
  • Review other developers’ code using GitHub pull requests, we see this as a great opportunity to learn
